Seven months since I last blogged, 7 months ago I had a giant ice-cream and was living in Queenstown.
Since then I have resigned, moved to Cape Town, lived on a couch, moved into my own place, lived on a couch again and moved back into my own place (very confusing I know).
I also got a rather good job in December, really enjoying it, keeps me extremely busy and has been a good learning curve.
So i have not done the usual touristy things since moving here, sure i climbed Table Mountain (I do not recommend Skeleton Gorge at all!) I also bought myself a year pass to the 2oceans Aquarium seeing as I enjoy looking at the way fish move.\
I have found two places that I am addicted too and must really stop going to one is the Milnerton Market, i have bought so many toys and other pieces of useless junk there already and then there is China Town OoO so much stuff that has no purpose other than entertaining me for the moment I take it out its packaging before it breaks.
A good example of this is my little RC helicopter I bought, works great, apart from the little piece of plastic that holds the rotors together being broken
Ok so enough typing, time to shove some images in here, way better than reading my terrible writing.

This past weekend I managed to get my hands on a HUGE fibreglass ice cream. This thing must be about 2.5 to 3 meters high.
I have no idea what I am going to land up painting on it yet, however it is not something I am in a rush to get finished, will be a long term project. If you have any ideas for this one just leave a comment or just send me a message on facebook or twitter.
More after the jump.

Been a while since I posted anything, so long in fact that I had no idea that reddprime.com redirected to here. (thank you Duane)
Vinyl Destination and Exposure Gallery put together a awesome concept for a custom toy/camera show with the theme "Dreams in Focus" also the title of the show.

For the next nine weeks I will be doing a type of contest, this is how it will work.
I will be updating my twitter and facebook profile images with a "famous" helmet or mask version of the reddprime jolly roger logo, all you have to do is comment or like the one you prefer and you could stand a chance to win a hand inked version of the design you prefer ( size a3 or a2, depending on what the winner would prefer). You can also earn extra entries by suggesting a mark or helmet to use, if I did not think of it and use that design you will earn two extra entries.
So dont go and suggest the usual ones : Darth Vader, Storm Trooper ect.
Mech heads will count for this, come on a EVA units head is awesome.
So far we have had:
Week 1: Iron Man
Week 2 : Boba Fett

Dont know why it has taken me so long to blog about this, most likely didn't want more people to enter ;) oh well.
A while ago I entered the CE Planet Contest 2, thought I would just throw some ideas together and try my luck, didn't really think anything would come from it.
A few days later I saw some photos on Facebook with my design on a cupcake, didn't think a thing of it till I received a email that evening, turned out my design was selected with a few others as part of a CE Planet and SINGHA ARSA project.
This is what the CE Planet website says about it:
SINGHA ARSA is a Networking Charity Project founded by SINGHA Corporation in Thailand :
SINGHA ARSA always has various charity activities such as flooding relief in Thailand several months ago.
CE x SINGHA Life is a collaoration project between CE Platform Toy x SINGHA Life Strret Brand. The project picked 7 Design set from all CE Contest II submissions from all over the world, and produce it for sell @ SINGHA Life shop both online and offline (limited edition 500 set per each design set).
The money from the project will be handed over to a charitable fund with SINGHA ARSA.
7 Design set are:
1. GHOULKNIGHT by Pritricio Oliver : Argentina (as an invitation designer)
2. Super KAB by Satoshi Yoshioka : Japan
3. Space Ghost Toshiro by Juanito Maiquez : Philippines
4. EYE by ROUGERUNE : France
5. Bananas by Tim Munz : Germany
6. Got Gum? by Reddprime-Mitchell Horn : South Africa
7. Jira Jiramakorn : Thailand
Congratulations for all 7 Designers, we will have a Grand Release Fashion Show for this set @ The CE Contest II Press Release on Jan 31, 2012 @ Siam Center Fashion Mall.
So now I just have to wait and see when the toys will be made, excited about it and really hope I get a bunch for myself.

So as 2011 comes to an end I thought I would do a summary of what has happened this year.
This year started off with taking part in the "Show me your Munny" show hosted by Toitoy down in Cape Town, I did not attend as I had wanted to, but it went well, the custom I did is still available for purchase.
After that I had a really slow month or two, and after some design work for A Sitting Duck and having a chat to David I decided to try and see if Vinyl Destination would be willing to sell my customs and other art work from their on-line store, and this went very well, sold a bunch of the customs I had put up and found out I had a collector of my work, this was wicked awesome.
Then some sad business had to be dealt with in the form of my former car Nelly, she was falling apart and I was unable to get her repaired as I was broke at the time, bleh. So I landed up selling her and feeling bad about doing so. In the end I used some of the money I got from her to buy a new PC seeing as the one I was using was really getting old and struggling to keep up with the work load I was putting on her. The new pc rocks! only problem I had is that now that I had a PC that could play some games I got really distracted by it.
Then the came the time for me to decide what must be done seeing as I was still unemployed, I did a odd of demolishing a building(that I never got the money for...), and then came the really sad point where I realised I had to move away from my home in Bloemfontein to a little place called Hell or as the locals call it Queenstown.
In the first month of being here I got a job (not something I would have chosen, but apparently must be done)
and I also headed up to Johannesburg for Street Cred 2011 along with Vinyl Destination and Kronk, this has to be the highlight of the year for me, meeting up with everyone I have been interacting with on-line for years, was also great for meeting up with some new people and doing some networking. Got some wicked toys, art prints and Tees from Kronk.
A couple of weeks after this I went and rolled a car, was not fun at all... I also was not speeding so not sure what happened just rolled and flipped, not wanting to do that ever again.
Got a very fun Commission from one of my Twitter followers and had some fun working on it.
Also decided to get hold of the guys at Toy2R and see if we could do some work together... keep an eye out in 2012 *wink*.
SO that was my 2011 in a nutshell... 2012 will bring some new challenges and experiences and I am rather looking forward to a year that I will be pushing myself in my art and toy design.
See you all there.
